Hello DEvas!

Have you been enjoying this unusually mild autumn weather? I never
think much about the winter holiday season before December, but was
even more disoriented than usual by the Christmas tree that appeared
like clockwork on November 1st in front of my local department store,
as well as the Christmas song playing on the muzak in the drugstore.

In Japan, there are many kinds of autumn...Autumn of Appetite
(storing up for the winter), Autumn of Reading (curling up with a
good book), Autumn of Sports (taking a walk to admire the changing
leaves), and Autumn of Art (getting creative). This month, you can
indulge your appetite at the Meet the DEvas event, and learn a new
artistic skill at the Photoshop workshop. Have fun!

Leader's Report

Hello Devas,

This is Smita, Rota leader for the month of November.

It's time to welcome and enjoy the Autumn season after the
heat of summer and the rain of typhoons! This season is my
favourite. The crispness in the air and the blue skies are
just lovely!

One more reason to like this season is that it brings the
biggest Indian festival, called Diwali! It's actually a
5-day festival and each day is celebrated with speciality.
We light up lamps all around the house, make sweets at home,
draw rangolis and enjoy fireworks. This year, we celebrated
it from the 21st to 25th of October. So the past month was
very joyful for me!

As all of you know, DEJ has arranged a Photoshop workshop on
19th Nov. Members are signing up for it! So, those who are
interested and haven't signed up yet, I recommend that you
sign up ASAP!
