FROM THE EDITOR

Hello everyone! I hope you are all having a wonderful holiday
season.

After four years in Japan, my family and I are going to be moving
back to the US at the end of February. There are so many things
I am going to miss. I will miss the drink machines with abundant
choices (and hot drinks in the winter!), the soft diapers (so much
better than american diapers), the wonderful customer service,
the sound of "kawaii" as we walk by with our son, using the little
bit of japanese that I know with strangers, the clean, efficient
and on time train system, feeling safe at night, the fun of reading
hiragana on signs and packaging to figure out what they say, the
engrish, and most of all, our japanese friends we have made while
we were here. I'm sure I've forgotten other things I could add to
the list.

I'm so happy I've been able to live in and experience Japan. I
appreciate being a part of Digital Eve Japan. I haven't been able
to get into town for many of the Meet the DEvas, but I thoroughly
enjoyed meeting some of the members at the workshops I presented.

I also enjoyed the hiking trip to Okutama that Misa coordinated
a couple of years ago. Digital Eve has led me to new friends and
clients for my design business.

Thank you DEvas!

ROTA LEADER'S MESSAGE And
                          MEMBERSHIP TEAM NEWS

Dear DEvas,

A Happy New Year!

We are all having a busy season so December Newsletter was
combined with January issue. Thank both newsletter editors
for your hard works at the end of year and special thanks
to Jennifer Pack for your help to DEJ!

Four new members joined DEJ in December. Welcome to DEJ!

Total membership was 633 as of December 30th, 2007.

The Meet the DEvas was held on the 2nd December though I cannot believe one month has already passed. The venue, Harrods in Roppongi Hills, was comfortable with good services. The Q&A
continued by each theme with Tatsuya, Hiroshi and Nick who
had participated as an adviser. We walked to Midtown and uttered
an exclamation to the LED illumination like the blue lake in the garden.

Thank all participants for your helps.

In 2007, 284 messages were on our mailing list and 6 events were
held. The SC is planning events in 2008 and welcome your idea
and thought for DEJ activity to be more useful.

Personally, I finished my MA program that took over three years
and will attend the graduation ceremony at Leeds in UK this year.
The challenge made my brain and mind fresh again like I was
a student. On own business, I will continue to design the balance
of comfortable architectural spaces and high technologies.

Wishing you all the best for 2008. Thank you.
