Hello DEvas!

I don’t have any new toys to talk about this month, but I have been downloading apps for my iPhone. Some make me more productive and some help me to be unproductive. There’s an app for Yahoo! Transit, which means that I don’t have to navigate through Safari to a Yahoo! Japan page every time I want to check the train schedule, and there’s Kanji Flip, which helps me study kanji. On the other hand, there are also apps to help me perfect my skills in draining the water out of instant yakisoba and throwing crumpled-up papers into garbage cans.

On a completely non-technical topic, I heard that kimchee might be good for flu prevention – does anyone have any insight into that? Anyway, take care in this changeable weather!

ROTA LEADER’S REPORT

Waki Kawamoto, Rota Leader for November
leader@…

Wow, it is November already! It is getting cold and I can feel winter coming. I hope everyone is keeping themselves warm. I just booked a ticket to visit Europe over the Christmas holiday. This is my first time to Europe and I am very excited! Have you decided your holiday plans?

Thank you to all of the members who came to our events this year. It is our tradition to have an end of the year event in December. This year we are doing it BIG! The details in the event report, but if you are free on Dec 17th please come – it is going to be the Tokyo’s biggest tech group event ever.

MEMBERSHIP TEAM NEWS

Misao Kajiro, Membership Coordinator

Total membership was 352 as of the 22nd of October. Welcome Deepika to DEJ!

At the time this issue is published I will be in Malta to see a Maltese artist whose works are exhibited at CUBE. CUBE (Centre for the Urban Built Environment) is a meeting place for the creative community both nationally and internationally. The CUBE’s vision of being a vibrant hub seems to inspire DEJ’s future vision.
